The Full Story Of
Pixel Paw

Pixel Paw is my dream come to life - built from a lifetime of love for animals. I’m Nikita, the heart behind the service. I’m a fully qualified (DEFRA-compliant) microchip implanter for dogs, cats, rabbits, and ferrets, and an animal lover through and through.
Before starting Pixel Paw, I worked as a SEND teaching assistant. While I loved supporting children with additional needs, my passion for animals has always been a constant in my life. I’ve grown up surrounded by pets—everything from cats and dogs to chipmunks, reptiles and many more. I even spent my teenage years around horses, and while I’ve never owned one myself, they still hold a special place in my heart.
At home, I live with a wonderfully chaotic crew: my two dogs (Farley and Luna), two ferrets (Scraps and Kimba), a cat (Midnight), a rabbit (Coco), two rats (Ghost and Shadow), a guinea pig (Muffin), and a corn snake. I’m also lucky to be supported by my two amazing daughters, who have been with me every step of the way.

How It Began
The idea for this business began with a personal frustration: I wanted to get my own ferrets microchipped and was shocked at how expensive it was through a vet. I thought, there has to be a better way—so I trained to become a qualified implanter, with a mission to make microchipping more affordable and less stressful by offering a fully mobile service.
Pixel Paw started with microchipping, but it didn’t stop there. I soon added laser-engraved pet ID tags, which led to creating personalised lead hooks, and eventually expanded again when I got a 3D printer—unlocking even more custom pet products. Most recently, I’ve launched a pet sitting service, offering care in your home for total peace of mind.
Vision
What matters most to me is offering affordable, reliable care that pet owners can trust. I understand how much our animals mean to us—they’re family—and I treat every pet I work with as if they were my own. That’s also why I offer discounts for working animals and households on low income, because I believe every pet deserves the best, no matter the circumstances.
I’m committed to growing, learning, and improving both personally and professionally, regularly completing and refreshing courses in animal care to offer the best service possible.
Thanks for stopping by—I hope to meet you and your furry (or scaly!) friends soon!
